Transcript Request Form

The transcript request form sent home last week should be returned ASAP. This will take the place of the transcript request forms for individual schools.

Diploma Paper

The diploma paper sent home last week should be returned by October 20. Please PRINT the full name clearly.

8TH GRADE SCRAPBOOK PROJECT

The 8th grade has begun a year-long Scrapbook project. Every six weeks, the students will write at least 100 words about five items that are significant to them. Memento items could include such things as photographs, post cards, ticket stubs, newspaper clippings, menus, programs, medals, acceptance letters, etc. Students may include two items from this past summer during the first six weeks. They will receive a grade for the items and enties each six weeks.(Points will be deducted for not following directions, not turning in all sections, not writing enough, etc.)
During the last six weeks, they will put everything together into a finished scrapbook.
Due Dates:
November 18, 2011, January 6, 2012, February 17, 2012, March 30, 2012, and Final Scrapbook May 11, 2012

TEST PREP COURSE

The Test Prep Course for the High School Entrance Test will be offered from 2:00-3:00 on the following Wednesdays and Thursdays:

If you have not purchased a book, please buy the Kaplan Catholic High School Entrance Exams 6th Edition.
There will be no charge for this course.

Register for Entrance Exam

The High School Entrance Exam for Catholic High Schools will take place on Saturday, November 12 or Saturday, December 10. Be sure to register at the High School where you wish to take the test during the month of October. The fee is $30.00.

GRADING(GRADES 6,8)

Any assignment turned in late will be 10% off. Failing MATH papers may be done over. The final grade is based on the average of the two grades. TESTS CANNOT BE DONE OVER. Tests are counted twice. Any graded assignment not turned in will receive a grade of zero.

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS (GRADES 6,8)

Homework assignments should be copied down daily in the Student Planner. Assignments can also be viewed on RENWEB (www.renweb.com). A homework grade will be given at the end of each quarter. Students who have completed all homework assignments will earn a grade of 100. All work must be shown, or the assignment will be incomplete. Ten points will be deducted for every missing or incomplete homework assignment.

WELCOME BACK

A new school year has begun, and I am looking forward to working with the new 8th Grade. This site will be used to remind students about special projects and assignments. For more details, refer to RENWEB.

Cutest Baby Contest

It's here! Now is the time for everyone to see how adorable our 8th graders were as babies. Please bring in your baby picture by Friday, March 11.
