REGISTRATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAM
During the month of October, you must register at one of the participating high schools. A fee of $25.00 will be payable at the time you register to cover the cost of the examination.
Plan to take the exam at the high school where and when you register on November, 13, 2010 or December 11, 2010 (Make-up date). The exam will begin at 8:30 A.M.

8TH GRADE SCRAPBOOK PROJECT
The 8th grade has begun a year-long scrapbook project. Every six weeks, the students will write at least 100 words each about five items that are significant to them. Memento items could include such things as photographs, post cards, ticket stubs, newspaper clippings, menus, programs, medals, acceptance letters, etc. They will be allowed the first six weeks to include two items from this past summer. They will receive a grade for the items and entries each six weeks(points deducted for not following directions, not turning in all sections, not writing enough, etc.)
During the last six weeks, they will put everything together into a scrapbook.

PROGRESS REPORTS
Progress Reports will be sent home three times per quarter. The dates for the first quarter will be:September 23, October 7(Midterm with Warnings), and October 21. Grades close November 5. Reports will include notification concerning effort,conduct, and failing grades. They should be signed and returned within two days.
GRADING(GRADES 6,7,8)
Any assignment turned in late will be 10% off. Failing MATH papers may be done over. The final grade is based on the average of the two grades.TESTS CANNOT BE DONE OVER. Tests are counted twice. Any graded assignment not turned in will receive a grade of zero.
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS (GRADES 6,7,8)
Homework assignments should be copied down daily in the Student Planner. Assignments can also be viewed on Ren Web (www.renweb.com). A homework grade will be given at the end of each quarter. Students who have completed all homework assignments will earn a grade of 100. All work must be shown or the assignment will be incomplete. Ten points will be deducted for every missing or incomplete homework assignment.

WELCOME BACK
